Kilmore GAA Club Notes 6th May 2019

O Gara Cup 
Our O Gara cup team were defeated by Castlerea on Sunday last in Castlerea by 1 point. 

Underage 
Our U14 div 2 defeated Elphin Ballinameen and have finished joint top in the league table with St Aidens. Our U12’s were beaten by a point by St Ciarans in the Spring league. Our U16 team will play Bolye in the div1 Shield final next Wednesday evening in Elphin at 7pm. On Sunday next our U12’s play Oran in Rockfield at 11am . 

Ladies 
The U16 Girls were defeated by Boyle in the Division 1B final. It was a very close first half with only one score between the teams at half-time. However, Boyle's strength came through in the second half and they ran out convincing winners. Thanks to the girls and management for all their efforts. Our U14s were defeated by Michael Glaveys in the League.
For the U12s the Summer League starts against Boyle on the Bank Holiday Monday and then they play St. Barry's in Kilmore on Wednesday 8th May at 7pm.

Adult football  
Our junior team defeated Ballinameen on Saturday evening last in the division 5 league. Our king & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team play Castlerea this Sunday Castlerea in round 5 of the league. 

Underage 
Our U12’s got their spring league off to a winning start with a good win over Michael Glaveys. Our U14 Div 4 team were beaten by St Dominics and our minors were beaten by Eire og Michael Glaveys. On Tuesday evening next our U14 div 2 team play Elphin Ballinameen 
In Elphin at 7pm. Our U16 Div1 team have qualified for the league shield semifinal against Kilbride to be played this week. Date and time to be confirmed. On Sunday next our U12 team play St Ciarans in Mulhern park Fuerty at 11am in the next round of the spring league . 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies were successful in their League semi-final against Oran. The now play Kilbride in the final. Our U12s were defeated by Ballinameen in the Northern League and our U14s had their first League game against Strokestown. All roads lead to Kilglass next Sunday evening when our U16s take on Boyle in the Division 1B final. The game is at 5.45pm. Please come and support the girls.

Other news 
Our 50/50 draw continues this Saturday night at 10pm with the draw taking place in the Silver Eel. Trevor Hunts team are on selling duty for this weekend. Kilmore GAA sends our condolences to Brid Tiernan on the death of her niece Deirdre Fitzgerald who passed away suddenly last week. Deirdre was a pupil of Dangan National School. May she Rest In Peace.

O Gara Cup 
Hard luck to our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team who were defeated by Elphin on Saturday evening last in Kilmore. 

Underage 
Our U14 Div2 team were narrowly defeated by St Aidens and our U14 Div 4 team recorded a win over Western Gales. On Wednesday our U14 div2 team play Kilglass St Barrys in Kilmore at 7pm. On Friday our Minors play Eire og Michael Glaveys in Ballinlough at 7pm. 
On Sunday our U14 Div4 team play St Dominic’s in Kilmore at 12 noon. U12 spring league gets under way next weekend with fixture yet to be confirmed. 

Ladies 
Our U10s took part in the U10 Blitz in Croke Park on Monday. This was a great experience for the girls. They thoroughly enjoyed the day and thanks to the mentors and parents for making it such a success. Our U12s had a good win over St Michaels/St Ronans in the Northern League. The Junior Ladies play Oran in the League semi-final on Saturday at 7.15pm in Kilmore.

O Gara Cup 
Hard luck to our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team who were defeated by Tulsk on Saturday evening. Next up is a local derby with Elphin this Saturday evening at 6pm in Kilmore. 

Annual draw 
Our annual €100 draw tickets are now on sale and the first draw takes place this Saturday night in Earleys Hillstreet. We have 3 draws in the year with a top prize of €1,000 in each draw.  Tickets are on sale from the usual sellers and we would ask for your support for this annual draw. 

Underage 
Our U14 Div 2 team beat Padraig Pearses in the league and our minors beat St Ciarans . 
On Saturday next our U14 Div 4 team plays Western Gales in Frenchpark at 12 noon. 
Our U14 div 2 team are due to play St Aidens next week. Date and time yet to be confirmed. 
U14 Feile 
We are looking for two more host families for the 28th and 29th of June . Please contact Shane McElhone asap if you can help out. 

Ladies football 
Our U16 Girls overcame Clann na nGael in the semi-final of the League. This was a hard fought battle which saw the girls win by a point. They now play Boyle in the Division 1B final. The U12 Girls played Boyle in the Northern League. 

Other news 
Our 50/50 draw takes place this Saturday night at 10pm in Earleys Hillstreet. We have decided after requests from supporters to change our 50/50 draws to Saturday night so this weekend is the first Saturday draw. Brian Carroll’s team are on selling duty and tickets are on sale at usual locations.

O Gara Cup 
Well done to our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team who defeated Clann Na nGael B team on Saturday evening last in Kilmore. Our next game is this Saturday evening at 6pm against Tulsk in Tulsk. 

Underage 
Our Minors drew with St Michaels in the league. On Tuesday our U16 team play Kilbride in Kilbride at 7pm. On Thursday our U14 team plays Pearses in Pearses at 7pm. On Friday our Minors play St Ciarans in Kilmore at 6:30pm. U14 All Ireland Feile - On the weekend of the 28/29/30 of June we will be taking part in the all Ireland U14 Feile and we will also be hosting a team from Tipperary. We are looking for 6/7 host families in the Parish that would be willing to provide accommodation on the 28th and 29th of June for at least 2 underage players or mentors from the Tipperary club. If you think you might be in a position to do so please contact Damien Devaney on 087 2354374 before next weekend. 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies beat Oran in their last round game of the League. Other round games have still to be played to determine the Ladies' position. The U12s kicked off the Northern League by playing Shannon Gaels. Congratulations to Jamie and Joann Sharkey on the birth of their daughter Jennifer.

O Gara Cup 
Our King & Moffat sponsored O gara cup team got their 2019 campaign off to a good start with a 2-14 to 2-9 win over Éire Og on Sunday last in Loughglynn. Their next game is this Saturday evening at 6pm against Clann Na nGael B team in Kilmore. 

Underage 
Our U14 division 2 team defeated Castlerea in the league . Our U16 were defeated by Pearses and our Minors were defeafed by Western Gales in the league. On Friday eve next our Minors play St Michaels in Ardcarne Park at 6:30pm and our U14 Reserve League team play St Dominics in Kilmore at 6:30pm. 

Annual draw 
Our annual draw tickets are now on sale for €100 from all members of the executive. The first draw of the year with a top prize of €1,000 takes place on Easter Saturday night. Anyone who wishes to purchase a Gold membership for €320 must do so before this Friday the 5th of April as we will be placing the order with O Neills for the jackets on Friday. 

Other news 
Our 50/50 draw takes place this Sunday night in Bracken’s Hillstreet and Gerry Tiernan’s team are on selling duty. The club wishes our great supporter Pat Gannon a very happy 60th birthday and we wish Pat the very best with his brand new car that he treated himself to for his birthday. The club congratulates Jamie & Joann Sharkey on the birth of their daughter Jennifer and Padraig & Natasha King on the birth of their son Paddy.

Adult football 
Best of luck to our intermediate team who begin their O Gara cup campaign this Sunday at 2pm against Éire Og in Loughlynn. Hard luck to our junior team who were defeated on Sunday last by St croans in the league. 

Underage 
Our under 14 division two team got their league off to a winning start with a win over Kilbride. Our under 14 reserve league team also recorded a win over Padraig Pearses.
On Saturday next our Minors play Western Gaels in Kilmore at 4:30 pm. On Sunday next our under 16s play Padraig Pearses in Kilmore at 1pm. Our U14 Div2 team play Castlerea in Kilmore on Sunday next at 11am . 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies recorded a good win against St. Michaels in the League and our U16 Girls defeated Clann na nGael. The U16s play St. Brigids next Sunday at 4pm in Kiltoom.

Junior league 
Our Div 5 junior league team begin their league campaign this Sunday against Kilglass in Kilglass at 1pm.

Underage 
Our U 16s recorded a good win over Roscommon Gales today in the league. On Saint Patricks day our under 16s play Boyle in Kilmore at 11 am in the league. 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies were defeated by Kilbride in the League. Our U16s suffered defeat at the hands of St. Dominics in their first game of the Championship. Our U10s competed in the County Blitz on Saturday and were of the 2 teams chosen to represent Roscommon in Croke Park on 15th April.

Underage 
Our U16’s were beaten by St Bridget’s and our Minors were beaten by St Faithleach’s in their league games. Our U16’s play Roscommon Gales on Sunday next at 11am in Lisnamult . 
Good luck to Niall McLoughlin , Cathal Caslin and Matthew Caslin and Scoil Mhuire Stroketown in the Connacht Colleges Junior final on Tuesday against Boyle Community College. 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies got their League Campaign off to a winning start after a very competitive game against Roscommon Gaels. Next up is Kilbride on Friday evening at 8.30pm in Kilbride. Our U16s play their opening Championship match at 4 o'clock on Sunday 10th March against St. Dominics in Elphin.

Our 50/50 draw takes place this Sunday night at 10pm in The kilmore Inn and Jamie Sharkeys team are on selling duty.

Underage 
Our U14 reserve team put in a good performance in their opening game but were narrowly beated by Clan na Gael. On Thursday evening at 8 pm in Kiltoom our U16’s play St Brigids in our reschedule league fixture. On Sunday next our minors play St Faithleach’s in Ballyleague at 11am . 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies play Roscommon Gaels in the opening game of the League next Sunday at 11 am in Lisnamult.

Presentation night
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported our presentation night in the Silver Eel. Well done to our awards winners senior player of the year - Derek Connellan, Junior player of the year - Oisin Boland, Club personality of the year - Trevor Hunt.
