50/50 Draw
Well done to Carmelita Caslin who won our 50/50 jackpot of €395. Our winner of our Easter hamper was Junior Caslin and rumour has it Junior had a great night Sunday night eating Easter eggs, drinking wine and eating pringles in Rockville. Our €25 winners were Gerry Tiernan (Yearly Winner), Brian Carroll, Gerry Garvey and Ann Connellan. Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets. Our next draw is in 2 weeks.

50/50 Draw
Our 50/50 draw is back. Our first draw back will take place on this Sunday night Easter Sunday outdoor at 8pm. Tickets cost €2 each or 3 for €5 and can now be purchased via our website

Other news 
The club extends its sympathy to Marie Crowe and Patricia Holahan on the death of their mother Margaret Diffley, to Yvonne Foley on the death of her mother Noreen Conroy, to Mary Carney and Leo Kavanagh on the death of their sister Rita Doyle and to Teresa Murray on the death of her brother John Joe O Brien. May they all rest in peace.

GAA Presidents Award
Kilmore GAA are delighted to congratulate Peter Joe Fitzmaurice who was awarded the GAA Presidents award for 2021. Peter Joe was given this award for many years of distinguished service to the GAA at local and County level. Last Sunday Peter Joe featured on a special programme on TG4 filmed a few weeks back. Peter Joe has given many years of service to our club in many different positions within the club and with teams. The club are very proud of Peter Joe receiving this award. Well done to Peter Joe and heres to many more years of good health and happiness. 

Intermediate team
A few weeks back the club was delighted to confirm Paul Taylor from Sligo as the manager of our Intermediate team for 2021. Paul will be assisted by 3 selectors for the year Anthony Carroll, David Foley and John Paul Murray. We wish Paul and his management team the very best of luck for the year. 

Kilmore GAA reminds everyone that all our facilities including the gym remain closed at the pitch except the walkway. We ask everyone to adhere to HSE guidelines & restrictions when using the walkway and to also walk in an anti-clockwise direction. We all look forward to the day when our activities can get up and running again. The club hope to have our membership details confirmed very shortly for the year ahead.

Ladies GAA
Kilmore LGFA Is looking for as many people as possible to enter the New Lidl Competition “ Level the Playing Field”. This is where Lidl are providing Jerseys and Cash amounts to ladies clubs while promoting the Women’s game. When shopping in Lidl from today, you can help the Kilmore Ladies Teams by downloading the app, selecting Kilmore and scanning the app at the till. We need as many people as possible to take part. We are aiming for 100 stamp cards which equals two new sets of Jerseys. Any queries Club contact is Chairperson of the Ladies Board Trevor Hunt.

Kilmore GAA extends its sympathy to Yvonne & Dermot Foley on the death of Yvonnes mother Noreen Conroy. We congratulate Sean Collins, Natasha Munnelly and Niall McLoughlin on an excellent fundraiser they completed in February for North West Stop Suicide.  The Aughrim/Kilmore Community Hospice group are delighted to finalise our final figure raised in the Community for the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice. The following is the break down Auction - €13,730.00, Brian Carroll 5km a day walk - €12,074.25, Mart donation - €4391.78. The total figure raised was - €30,196.03. The Aughrim/Kilmore Hospice group are absolutely delighted to have raised over €30,000. The committee wish to thank every person who supported our Fundraising in any way at all. We thank everyone who donated and purchased items in our auction and also to everyone who donated to the 5k walk. Thanks also to Gerry Connellan & Elphin Mart for their very kind donation. The Hospice Committee consists of the following Ann McMahon, Brian Carroll, Maureen McGuire, Kieran Lavin. Annual Club Draw
Our annual club draw took place on the 27th of December outdoor adhering to all restrictions. Kilmore GAA thanks everyone who purchased tickets for our annual draw. 50/50 draw
We had 2 50/50 draws over the Christmas season. Our 1 st draw results were as follows, jackpot €500 winner Brian Carroll, winners of €25 Harry Reynolds, Clodagh Connellan, Derek Connellan and Trevor Hunt. Bonus draw winners were Tommie & Teresa Kenoy, Michael McGuire, Gerry Tiernan, Martin Caslin and Teresa Ffrench. Our bonus draw took place on the night and the winner was Tommie & Teresa Kenoy who won a ticket into the Roscommon GAA apartment draw. We also held a special draw on the night with the following prizes Millionaire draw ticket won by Ailish McWeeney, bottle whiskey sponsored by JJ McWeeney won Edel Flood, Wine/chocolate sponsored by Carmelita caslin won by Rachel Carroll Mohidin, Gammon sponsored by Brian Carroll and won by Niamh Bourke, bottle of whiskey sponsored by Trevor Hunt and won by Marion Vesey, Bottle of whiskey sponsored by Colin hanly Silver eel won by Jenny Connellan, bottle of brandy sponsored by Trevor Hunt and won Sarah Kilkenny, bottle of wine sponsored by Carmelita Caslin won by Chloe & Mia Connellan, bottle of wine sponsored by Carmelita Caslin and won by Rachel burke, bottle of whiskey sponsored by Michael McGuire and won by JJ McWeeney. On the 3rd of January our draw took place and the jackpot was €160 and our winner was Jim Gilchrest. Our €25 winners were Annette McWeeney, David Leydon, Seamus Glancy and Gary Beirne. Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets. Our draw is now postponed until further notice to adhere to Covid regulations. 

Covid Regulations
Kilmore GAA gym is now strictly closed and must not be used during level 5 lockdown by any person. The club have also suspended our 50/50 draw and also all training activity at the club. Our walkway remains open to all our members and we encourage everyone to get out and use the walking track over the next few weeks. 

Other News
Kilmore GAA asks everyone to please adhere to all guidelines and to reduce all your contacts unless the contacts are absolutely essential. A number of volunteers are on standby to help out anyone in the Community who needs help, if you need any assistance over the next few weeks contact Brian Carroll 087-2420896. We need to look after each other and get through these times together.  We had some good news in the club over the Christmas, we wish Dermot Foley a very happy 40th birthday, congratulations to Ray Caslin and Fiona Kelleher who got engaged last week and we also congratulate Shane & Chelcy Sharkey on the birth of their daughter Fiadh.

Annual draw
We have decided to go ahead with our annual club draw on the 27th December. We would usually have 3 draws for €1000 during the year but we will have the 3 draws on the same night this year. Tickets cost €100 and are on sale from the usual sellers.

Well done to Audrey Foley who won our 50/50 jackpot of €213 on Sunday night last. Our €25 winners were Anthony Carroll Jnr (yearly), Tommie & Teresa Kenoy, Lily Connellan and Anthony Carroll Snr. Junior Game 
Our junior game was postponed last Saturday and has been refixed for the weekend of 18th of October. We thank St Faithleachs for their cooperation with refixing the game. The junior team next game is this Saturday against Shannon Gaels at 4.30pm in Croghan. 

In relation to our underage teams within the Club a decision was made due to the rise in Covid cases within the county to suspend training for our non competitive underage teams for the remainder of 2020. Our Underage Coaches have put in a lot of time and effort into the training of our underage teams and the organisation of Blitz’s over the last number of weeks. Kilmore Gaa Club would like to thank our Underage  Coaches and acknowledge their efforts ensuring the safe return of the children’s coaching sessions in difficult conditions during this Covid pandemic. Our Coaches were as follows Under 6’s : Dermot & Yvonne Foley, Padraig & Karen Holohan and Cleo Hanly, Coaches Under 8’s : Breian Carroll and Derek Connellan, Coaches Under 10’s : Gerry Fitzmaurice, Siobhain Hunt, Damian Beirne and William O Flynn. Also in relation to our Under 6’s  we wish to acknowledge the generous gesture in relation to the sponsorship of footballs and goodie bags to each individual player by Dermot & Yvonne Foley and Padraic & Karen Holohan.Looking forward to the return of all our underage players and coaches to the pitches in Kilmore in early 2021. Our U12 Team are provisionally fixed to play St Barry’s in Saturday 3rd October at 11 am in Kilmore in the Keenan Cup. Our U14 Division 1 combined team are next set to play Roscommon Gaels in the Division 1 Cup semi final in Croghan on Sunday 4th October at 12.45pm. Best of luck to all our underage teams for the week ahead.

Kilmore GAA would ask everyone to make an extra special effort this week to limit the number of people you meet, wash your hands often and please adhere to all HSE guidelines to help stop the spread of Covid.

Junior Championship
Our Junior B team begin their 2020 campaign this weekend as we host St Faithleachs this Saturday at 4.30pm in Kilmore. 

Our U12’s on Sunday defeated Strokestown away in the first round of the Keenan Cup. As a result Kilmore will play St Barry’s in the second round of the Keenan Cup to be played in Kilmore on Saturday 26th September at 12 pm (To be confirmed ). Our U14’s Div 1 combined team were defeated by Oran/St Croans in a playoff to qualify directly to the U14 Div 1 Cup Final. As a result our U14 Div 1 Team Will now play in the Div 1 Cup semi final on Sunday 27th September at 12.45 in Croghan against Roscommon Gaels. Our U14 Div 4 combined team were defeated by Roscommon Gaels in the Div 4 Cup semi final in Kilmore on Sunday. Our U16 Division 1 combined team were defeated by Roscommon Gaels and the U16 combined teams league campaign has come to an end. Many thanks to Ray Mc Mahon and Gerry Holohan for the time and effort put into coaching this team. The Kilmore Minor Board would like to offer our best wishes to Brian Carroll, Kilmore PRO in celebrating his 40th birthday and Club President Peter Joe Fitzmaurice in celebrating his 90th birthday.

The U-12 Girls were defeated by 2 points in their Final against St. Ciaran's on Monday evening. It was a very tight game played by two evenly matched teams. Well done to Cara James, Derinn Smyth, Lily Connellan, Aoife Burke, Heather McElhone, Aoibhe Higgins, Sophie Butler, Grace Burke, Ingrid Jameson Stritch, Katie Hunt, Olivia Munnelly, Saoirse Bracken, Amy McKeon, Ciara Carroll, Alannah McKiernan, Saoirse Kerins, Natalie James and Chloe Connellan for playing some great football over the summer. The club would like to thank Trevor Hunt, Shane McElhone and Josie Munnelly for the time and effort they put in. A huge thank you to Gerry Burke for sponsoring food for the team. Congratulations to Deirdre Devaney and Sarah McLoughlin on their recent Championship wins.

Kilmore GAA Club Notes 14th September 2020

Our U8 and U 10’s on Tuesday last had a blitz against St Barry’s  in Kilmore . This week our U8 and U10’s will be playing St Michaels at Kilmore pitch on Tuesday at 6.30pm. Kilmore U12’s on Sunday at Croghan pitch lifted  the Div 3 Cup by  beating St Barry’s  in a very competitive match 0-11 to 0-8. Congratulations to players and parents for the effort put in over last few weeks and also to the management team of Darren Kerins, Nicola Craughwell and Shane Mc Elhone. The Keenan Cup is to be played and fixtures to be confirmed later in the week. Our U14 Div 1 combined team are to play Croans/Eire Og in Croghan on Friday at 7pm with the winner qualifying directly into the Division 1 Final.
Our U14 combined Division 4 team lost away to Roscommon Gaels last Tuesday  and drew with St Dominics in Kilmore last Friday. Our U16 combined Division 1 team are to play Roscommon Gaels in Lisnamult on Monday 14th September at 7pm. Our Div 1 U18 Combined team suffered a loss away to Padraig Pearses in Woodmount on Sunday in the Division 1 semi final on a score line 3-14 to 1-10. Many Thanks to Ronan Mc Kiernan for the time and effort he has put in with coaching the Minor panel this year. Best of luck to all our underage teams for the week ahead

Kilmore GAA Club Notes 7th September 2020

Our U8 and U 10’s last Friday contested a blitz with Shannon Gaels in Croghan. Strong performances and fantastic turnout by both age groups. The future is looking bright. Kilmore U12’s on Saturday morning at Kilmore pitch in the Div 3 Cup semi final beat Michael Glaveys in a very competitive match. Kilmore have now qualified to play the Div 3 Cup Final  to be played this weekend against St Barry’s. Official venue and times  to be confirmed. Our U14 combined Division 1 team will be in action next away to Roscommon Gaels on Tuesday 8th September in Lisnamult at 6.45 pm
Our U14  Div 4 combined team are next to play St Dominics in Kilmore on Friday 11th September at 7pm. Our U16 Division 1 team had a narrow loss  against St Brigids in Kilmore last Monday and have no matches for the week ahead. Our Div 1 U18 Combined team are still waiting for official confirmation on the semi final times and venues for their Div 1 semi final which had been provisionally booked to be played the weekend of 12th/13th September.. Our U18 Combined team will now be playing Padraig Pearses in the Div 1 County Semi Final in Woodmount on Sunday 13th at 1 pm. Commiserations to our Junior Ladies who were defeated by Four Roads in the Junior B Final. Our Ladies had been down by 6 and with tremendous heart and determination  had got back to draw level in normal time only to concede a goal in injury time. Thanks to the girls and to Kevin, Jamie, JJ and Damien for the work they put in this year. The Club would like to thank Hillstreet Clay Pigeon Shooting and The Silver Eel for sponsoring the live streaming of the game. Our U12s were defeated by a strong Kilbride team. It was a tough game but the girls battled hard to the very end. The Final is to be played next weekend.

Tickets cost €100 and we will have 3 draws before the end of the year with a top prize of €1,000 in each draw. We hope to have our first draw within the next 2 weeks.
