Kilmore GAA Club Notes 8th July 2019

Junior team 
Well done to our Junior team who moved to the top of Division 5 North with a 3-15 to 1-4 win over Balinameen on Friday evening last. Team was as follows Anthony Carroll, Liam Caslin, Padraig Earley, Shane Crowe, Patrick Doyle, Brian Holohan, Cian Ffrench, Brendan Bourke, Peter Sheridan, Ben Donohue, Cathal Carney, Niall Gannon, Jason McEvoy, Dara Feely, Oisin Boland. Subs Ryan McLoughlin, Donal Carroll & Phillip Martin. The juniors next game is this Wednesday evening against St Croans in Enfield. 

Underage 
On Friday next our U14 Div 2 team play Stroketown in the championship at 7pm in Stroketown. On Sunday our Minors play Western Gales in Frenchpark at 1pm. Also on Sunday our U14 div 4 team play Clan na Gael in Johnstown at 3pm. 

Club Rossie 
Club Rossie tickets are still on sale priced at €100 or €230. Everyone who purchases before this Saturday is entered into an extra draw for €500 and 8 entries into the main draw. Anyone who wishes to purchase is asked to contact Brian Carroll or Carmelita Caslin. 

Other News 
Our 50/50 draw takes place this Sunday night at 10pm in The Silver Eel and Jenny Connellans team are on seeking duty. Kilmore GAA wishes Roscommon the best of luck this Saturday against Tyrone. The club needs to provide a minimum of 6 stewards. Anyone who is available is asked to contact Brian Carroll.

County Cup 
Well done to our senior team who defeated Michael Glaveys on Saturday evening in the all county cup. 

Junior team 
Well done to our junior team who defeated Shannon Gaels in the league on Sunday last. 

Ladies 
Our U12s will play St. Croans Friday evening in the Championship semi-final. Thanks to St. Michaels/St. Ronans for playing our U14s at the opening of the new pitch. A great day was had by all.

Underage 
Our U12 league semi final versus St Michaels may be played on Tuesday evening in Cootehall Best of luck to our three national schools in their respective county finals on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. 

Pitch & walkway opening 
On Sunday last we opened our new walkway and training pitch. The day was a great day for young and old with something for everybody on the day. Thanks to everyone who attended the event. A special thanks to everyone who helped out in anyway in making the day a great success. 

Other news 
Our 50/50 draw takes place this Saturday night in Bracken’s Hillstreet and Pamela McGaurans team are on selling duty. The club wishes our great supporter Paddy Sheridan a very happy birthday as he reached a big milestone recently.

O Gara Cup 
Hard luck to our O Gara cup team who were defeated by Strokestown on Saturday evening last in Kilmore. 

Underage 
Our Div 2 U14 team was beaten by St Aidens by 3 points in the league final. Our U14 Div4 team was beaten by St Dominics by a point in the league semifinal . 

Walkway & Training pitch 
This Sunday is a special day for our club as we officially open our new walkway and training pitch. Events get underway with underage blitz’s taking place followed by a 5k walk/run getting underway at 1pm with registration at 12.30pm. Our junior team play Shannon Gaels at 3pm. We will have bouncing castles, face painting, ice cream van and lots more for all the family. Live music will kick off at the end of the junior match for 2 hours with a BBQ and lots lots more. This is a family day so we encourage all the parish to join us this Sunday at the pitch. 

Other news 
Well done to Kevin Shiel who won our 50/50 jackpot of €432. Our €25 winners were as follows Ethel Geelan (yearly ticket), Paul Rogers, Tommie & Teresa Kenoy, Pearlie Burke.

O Gara cup 
This Saturday evening at 5.30pm we host Strokestown in the O Gara cup in Kilmore. 

Opening 
Our official opening of the new walkway and training pitch will take place on Sunday the 9th of June. Lots of activities will take place on the day including a 5k walk/Run at 1pm, underage matches, face painting, music and lots more. 

Underage 
Our U12’s play St Michael tomorrow evening in Kilmore at 7pm in their final league game. 
Our U14’s Div2 team play St Aidens in Enfield tomorrow evening at 7pm in the League final. 

Ladies 
Commiserations to our Junior Ladies who lost the League Final to Kilbride. The Ladies put in a great second half performance but were unable to change the outcome of the game. Our 12s were successful against St. Croans whilst our U14s defeated Four Roads. The U14s now play Strokestown in the semi-final of the League. The U8s and U10s had games against Strokestown.

Other news 
Well done to the Roscommon senior football team on their mighty win over Mayo on Saturday evening last. Well done to Mark Carroll who took part in the exhibition match on Saturday in Castlebar. Our 50/50 draw takes place this Saturday night in the Arch Bar Jamestown and Mervyn Foleys team are on selling duty.

O Gara Cup 
Well done to our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team who defeated Kilbride on Saturday evening last by 4 points in Kilmore. 

Underage 
Our U14 team had a great 1 point win over St Aidens after been 8 points down at half time in the Div 2 league decider so finish top of the table. The league final against the winner of St Aidens and Padraic Pearses will be played on the 27th of June. Our U12 recorded a win over St Aidens as well . We play St Michaels in the last game of the league on Monday week . 

Ladies 
The Junior Ladies play Kilbride in the Division 4 League Final on Wednesday evening at 8.30pm in Kilbride. Please come and show your support on Wednesday evening.
Kilmore was busy last Thursday evening as our U8s, U10s & U14s all played games against Ballinameen. The U14 game was in the League and it was a great contest with Ballinameen coming out on top. The girls play Four Roads this Thursday in Kilmore at 7pm. Thanks to Ballinameen for bringing their U8s & U10s to play. The next outing for the U8s & U10s is in Strokestown on Saturday morning. Our U12s played St. Croans and were unlucky to be beaten. The girls play St. Faithleachs in Kilmore on Wednesday at 7pm.

Date for your diary 
Our official opening of our new walkway and training pitch will take place on Sunday the 9th of June. This will be a family day at the pitch with underage matches and loads more. More details to follow over the coming weeks.

The club wishes the Roscommon senior football team the very best of luck against Mayo this Saturday. Well done to the Roscommon minor team on a great win against Galway at the weekend.  Well done to Kathleen Hynes who won our 50/50 jackpot of €500. O Gara Cup
Our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team play Kilbride this Saturday evening in Kilmore at 7pm. 

Underage 
Hard luck to our U16 team who lost to Boyle in the Div1 Shield final. Our U12 team play Oran in Oran in Monday evening at 7pm. Our U14 team will play St Aidens on Friday next to decide who finishes top of Division 2 . Venue and time yet to be confirmed. Final preparations are been put in place for the U14 All Ireland Feile at the end of June. We will be hosting Arravale Rovers from Tipperary town across 12 host families . On Friday the 28th of June Kilmore will host 4 games in the competition which will include a team from Western Australia. On Saturday the 29th of June our team and the Tipperary team as well as the Shannon Gales U14 Girls and their host team from Donegal will be having a meal followed by a disco in the Community centre in Dangan. Our U14 Panel will be getting some new kit for the competition. We have got two sponsors who are willing to cover some of the cost and we are looking for a few more to help in this regard. If anyone would be interested in providing some sponsorship please contact Damien Devaney on 087 2354374 . 

Walkway 
Our new walkway and training pitch will be officially opened on Sunday the 9th of June. We are planning a full day of events at the pitch. We are holding a meeting this Tuesday night at 9.30pm in the club rooms to organise the event. Anyone interested in helping out is asked to attend the meeting.

This weeks 50/50 draw takes place this Saturday night at 10pm in the Kilmore Inn and Clare Connellans team are on selling duty.

O Gara Cup 
Our O Gara cup team were defeated by Castlerea on Sunday last in Castlerea by 1 point. 

Underage 
Our U14 div 2 defeated Elphin Ballinameen and have finished joint top in the league table with St Aidens. Our U12’s were beaten by a point by St Ciarans in the Spring league. Our U16 team will play Bolye in the div1 Shield final next Wednesday evening in Elphin at 7pm. On Sunday next our U12’s play Oran in Rockfield at 11am . 

Ladies 
The U16 Girls were defeated by Boyle in the Division 1B final. It was a very close first half with only one score between the teams at half-time. However, Boyle's strength came through in the second half and they ran out convincing winners. Thanks to the girls and management for all their efforts. Our U14s were defeated by Michael Glaveys in the League.
For the U12s the Summer League starts against Boyle on the Bank Holiday Monday and then they play St. Barry's in Kilmore on Wednesday 8th May at 7pm.

Adult football  
Our junior team defeated Ballinameen on Saturday evening last in the division 5 league. Our king & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team play Castlerea this Sunday Castlerea in round 5 of the league. 

Underage 
Our U12’s got their spring league off to a winning start with a good win over Michael Glaveys. Our U14 Div 4 team were beaten by St Dominics and our minors were beaten by Eire og Michael Glaveys. On Tuesday evening next our U14 div 2 team play Elphin Ballinameen 
In Elphin at 7pm. Our U16 Div1 team have qualified for the league shield semifinal against Kilbride to be played this week. Date and time to be confirmed. On Sunday next our U12 team play St Ciarans in Mulhern park Fuerty at 11am in the next round of the spring league . 

Ladies 
Our Junior Ladies were successful in their League semi-final against Oran. The now play Kilbride in the final. Our U12s were defeated by Ballinameen in the Northern League and our U14s had their first League game against Strokestown. All roads lead to Kilglass next Sunday evening when our U16s take on Boyle in the Division 1B final. The game is at 5.45pm. Please come and support the girls.

Other news 
Our 50/50 draw continues this Saturday night at 10pm with the draw taking place in the Silver Eel. Trevor Hunts team are on selling duty for this weekend. Kilmore GAA sends our condolences to Brid Tiernan on the death of her niece Deirdre Fitzgerald who passed away suddenly last week. Deirdre was a pupil of Dangan National School. May she Rest In Peace.

Hard luck to our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team who were defeated by Elphin on Saturday evening last in Kilmore. 

Underage 
Our U14 Div2 team were narrowly defeated by St Aidens and our U14 Div 4 team recorded a win over Western Gales. On Wednesday our U14 div2 team play Kilglass St Barrys in Kilmore at 7pm. On Friday our Minors play Eire og Michael Glaveys in Ballinlough at 7pm. 
On Sunday our U14 Div4 team play St Dominic’s in Kilmore at 12 noon. U12 spring league gets under way next weekend with fixture yet to be confirmed. 

Ladies 
Our U10s took part in the U10 Blitz in Croke Park on Monday. This was a great experience for the girls. They thoroughly enjoyed the day and thanks to the mentors and parents for making it such a success. Our U12s had a good win over St Michaels/St Ronans in the Northern League. The Junior Ladies play Oran in the League semi-final on Saturday at 7.15pm in Kilmore.

O Gara Cup 
Hard luck to our King & Moffat sponsored O Gara cup team who were defeated by Tulsk on Saturday evening. Next up is a local derby with Elphin this Saturday evening at 6pm in Kilmore. 

Annual draw 
Our annual €100 draw tickets are now on sale and the first draw takes place this Saturday night in Earleys Hillstreet. We have 3 draws in the year with a top prize of €1,000 in each draw.  Tickets are on sale from the usual sellers and we would ask for your support for this annual draw. 

Underage 
Our U14 Div 2 team beat Padraig Pearses in the league and our minors beat St Ciarans . 
On Saturday next our U14 Div 4 team plays Western Gales in Frenchpark at 12 noon. 
Our U14 div 2 team are due to play St Aidens next week. Date and time yet to be confirmed. 
U14 Feile 
We are looking for two more host families for the 28th and 29th of June . Please contact Shane McElhone asap if you can help out. 

Ladies football 
Our U16 Girls overcame Clann na nGael in the semi-final of the League. This was a hard fought battle which saw the girls win by a point. They now play Boyle in the Division 1B final. The U12 Girls played Boyle in the Northern League. 

Other news 
Our 50/50 draw takes place this Saturday night at 10pm in Earleys Hillstreet. We have decided after requests from supporters to change our 50/50 draws to Saturday night so this weekend is the first Saturday draw. Brian Carroll’s team are on selling duty and tickets are on sale at usual locations.
