Club Notes 1st January 2012

Our annual 25 card drive was postponed due to the deaths of Margaret Briody (Nee Carney) and Theresa Early (Nee Burke). The club extends our deepest sympathy to the Carney & Burke families on the bereavements. The 25 card game has been re-fixed for Sunday night the 15th of January 2012 at 9pm. Tickets are still on sale from all members of the executive. Our annual St Stephens day run out took place with our over 25 team defeating the under 25 team with a late goal. Under 25 Team Joseph O Connor (Captain), Jack Sharkey, Mark Connellan, Ian Connellan, Donal Nevin, Joe Garvey, Jake Feely, Cathal Carney, Paul Garvey, Noel Reynolds & Kevin Caslin. Over 25 team Mick Feely, Damien Tiernan, Shane Sharkey, Jamie Sharkey (Captain), Derek Connellan, Dermot Foley, Gary Connellan, Jason McEvoy, Anthony Carroll, Gerry Connellan, Diarmuid Carney,, half time sub Michael POP Connellan for Mick Feely, Referee ; Brian Carroll & Tommy Kenoy, Camera : Teresa Kenoy, Umpire : Carmelita Caslin. The club thanks everyone who made the effort to come out on the day. Our final draw of the year took place that night with the following results €1,000 Kevin & Catherin Mulvey, Jamestown, €500 John Hanly, Curries, €200 Percy Ffrench, €100 Michael & Margaret Beirne, Curclare, €100 Ollie Sharkey, Christmas hamper Teresa Kenoy. The club thanks everyone who purchased tickets and our new draw will be launched in January for 2012. Our senior board AGM takes place this Saturday the 7th of January at 6.30pm in the club rooms. Everyone is welcome to attend, all paid up members and life members will have received their nomination forms before Christmas. Music and light refreshments will take place this Saturday night after the AGM in Earlys as we prepare for the year ahead.
