Kilmore Club Notes 15th October 2012

Pride of the club this week goes to our U-21 team who followed up their win over St Ronans with a good win against Shannon Gaels in Kilmore. they game finished 2-6 to 0-6 points in favour of us and this now means we have qualified for the county semi final as we have won both our 2 games and topped the group. Our opponents are unknow yet but will be either St Michaels, Ballinameen or St Barrys and this game wont be player for at least 2/3 weeks. The U-21 panel of players for the 2 games was Ollie Burke, Peter Glancy, Ian Connellan, Danny Collins, Peter Sheridan, Cathal Carney, Stephen Gannon, Jake Feely, Darragh Feely, Joe Garvey, Joe Sharkey, Paul McElhone, Gary Notly, Ciaran McLoughlin, Kevin Conlon, Ben Donoghue, Paul Butler. It is hoped that our Dunnes bar sponsored Junior team will have a league game this weekend, check our website for more details during the week. Our U-14 team play Oran in the division 3 championship this Saturday the 20th of October at 1.30pm in Oran. An important general meeting of Kilmore G.A.A. club will take place this Thursday night the 18th of October at 9pm in the clubrooms. All members of the club are invited to attend. The Scor Na Nog season is nearly upon us and this year the 1st round of Scor is been hosted by Kilmore. It will take place on Saturday the 3rd of November at 7.30pm in the Community Centre Dangan. Anyone person who would like to participate is asked to contact Annette on 086-3312530. Everyone who takes part must be members of their G.A.A. club. We wish our girls U-14 team the best of luck as they play Elphin in the Division 3B final in Kilmore this Thursday evening at 5pm. Our 3rd club draw of 2012 with a top prize of €1,000 takes place this Friday night the 19th of October at 10pm in The Silver Eel pub. As always their will also be a draw for a hamper for everyone who attends the draw on the night. Our race night was great success in Earlys Hillstreet 2 weeks ago. We wish to thank everyone who bought and sold horses. Thanks to our race sponsors Elphin Mart, Earleys Hillstreet, Gerry Gilchriest, Corrib Oil, Raymond Earley and the Silver Eel. Thanks to PJ Hoare for the use of his sound equipment. Race winners were as follows Cyril Loughlin/Paul McGowan, Anthony McGovern/Adrian Hunt, Martin Caslin/Killian Fitzmaurice, Teresa & Tommie Kenoy, Tadhg Carroll/Donal Carroll, Pamela Vesey, Paddy Dillon, Jamie Sharkey, Timmy Higgins/Kieran Casey, Enda Killoran/Willie Casserly, Colm Garvey, Padraig Tiernan/Paula Farrell, Pat McGuinness/David Foley, Colin Hanly, Eric Murray, Padraig Butler, Grainne Brady/PJ Hoare, Ml Hp Connellan and the winner of our auction race was Jim King. Thanks to Pat & Eibhilin for their hospitality on the night. Our last man standing is down to the last 14 with locals Peter Sheridan, Mark McEvoy, Ciara McGuire, Noel Sharkey, Damien Tiernan and the youngest entrant Chloe Connellan still flying the flag for Kilmore.
