Our Arch bar sponsored senior team secured their senior championship status for 2013 with a 8 point win over St Croans Sunday week last. We thank our management team of Noel Crossan and John Crowe and all our panel of players for their effort and commitment during the year. We wish to thank everyone who helped out in anyway in preparing our pitch and grounds for the recent championship game against Strokestown. We thank everyone who helped out on the day by acting as stewards and also the ladies who prepared the food. Thanks to Tommy Reynolds and FAS for their help and thanks to Joseph O Beirne for the use of his field and PJ Hoare for the use of his sound system. Our junior team had a good win over Killoe at the weekend in a challenge and are due to play Tulsk in the Northern championship in Tulsk this Sunday at 6pm. We wish the best of luck to our minor team as the face Kilbride in the minor championship quarter final this Saturday evening in Kilmore at 6.30pm. Our Last Man Standing fundraiser is now going in to week 4 and we have 30 people still standing. Everyone is reminded you must text your name and selection before 11am on Saturday mornings to 087-6578640 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 087-6578640 end_of_the_skype_highlighting . Our next club fundraiser is pencilled in for Friday the 28th of September 2012 at 9.30pm when we have a night at the races in Earlys Hillstreet. Horses will cost just €20 (€10 for owner/€10 for jockey) and will be on sale from all members of the executive this week. 2 weeks ago we hosted a very successful week long summer camp for over 60 children aged 5 to 12. Everyone who took part had a great week. We thank all helpers for the week but we particularly thank Clare Caslin for all her work in organising the camp. We currently have about 50 members of our Kilmore GAA golf society. The societies first outing will take place on Sunday the 30th of September in the Sliabh Russell golf club. All club members and anyone from the parish is welcome. All details of the society are on our website, those interested to join is encouraged to contact the club chairman or secretary or log on to our website. We extend our sympathy to Damien Dorr and the Butler family on the recent death of Patricia Butler and we also extend our sympathy to Josie Notley and family on the recent death of Josies mother, Mrs Lee. We wish all our members who begin college life the best of luck.
