Kilmore GAA Club Notes 17th June 2013

Senior Team
Our Murtaghs bar sponsored Senior Team had a good 5 point win over Kilbride on Saturday evening last in Kilmore in Round 9 of the O Rourke cup. The team battled well in the 2nd half to move on to 8 points on the league table. Our next senior game is Wednesday the 17th of July at 8pm when we travel to play our neighbours Elphin.
Junior Team
Our junior team have a double outing this weekend. On Friday evening at 8pm they play St Ronans in Kilmore and then on Sunday at 11am we take on St Michaels in Kilmore. Please come out and support the team.
Our U-12 team defeated St Barrys by 2-11 to 2-9 on Thursday evening last.
Aughrim School
Congratulations to Aughrim Girls team who won the Cumann na mBunscol two teacher schools competition last week. This is the fourth year in a row that the girls have won it which is a remarkable achievement. They defeated Castlesamson in the final by a goal. The team and panel was: Natasha Munnelly, Áine Earley, Aoife Devaney, Gráinne Burke, Shauna McWeeney (captain), Aoife Earley, Leah Murphy, Alicia McCormack, Lisa Shannon, Rachel Devaney.
We thank everyone who bought County board tickets for last Saturdays draw. Because of your great support our club reached its target so the club did not have to come up with any extra money. Also well done to Frances McEvoy who won 18th prize in the draw and gets 2 nights B & B in the park house hotel in Galway. Our own club draw took place on Sunday night last in Brackens Hillstreet. The following were the prize winners  :

The Gathering
The Gathering Committee thanks everyone in our parish who supported each event over last weekend in such large numbers. It was great to see so many familiar faces around for the weekend and we thank everyone for making it a weekend that no one will ever forget. Also thanks to Damien Devaney and everyone who helped out with the U-10 blitz on Saturday morning last.
Club Merchandise
Our club replica merchandise order has arrived and distribution will take place on this Friday evening the 21st of June from 6.30pm to 7.30pm sharp. All items must be paid for and collected at Kilmore GAA grounds from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Friday.
Other news
We wish John Gannon and the Roscommon minor team they very best of luck as they face Sligo in Carrick On Shannon on this Sunday at 1.30pm in the Connacht minor championship semi final. Kilmore GAA welcomes our newest arrival to the parish on Saturday last with the birth of Mia Connellan and we congratulate Derek and Clare. Well done to our girls U-14 team of 2012 who received their County medals at half time in last Saturdays senior game against Kilbride.
