Kilmore GAA Club Notes 22nd February 2016

Well done to our King & Moffat sponsored Senior team who defeated Boyle on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-4. The game was played in slipp conditions with Kilmore leading by 0-5 to 0-1 at half time thanks to 3 points from Dara Feely and one each from Ray Caslin & Kevin Caslin. The second half was again a tight affair but 2 points from frees from Derek Connellan and a point each from play from Cathal Carney and Gary Connellan saw us get our 1st win of the 2016 O Rourke cup. Team and scorers were as follows Ollie Burke, Mark Connellan, Jack Sharkey, Liam Caslin, Gary Connellan (0-1), Colm Garvey, Damien Tiernan, Cathal Carney (0-1), Dermot Foley, Joe Garvey, Aaron McEvoy,  Derek Connellan (0-2), Kevin Caslin (0-1), Dara Feely (0-3), Ray Caslin (0-1) cSubs used Pat Caslin & Shane Sharkey. Next up for our Senior team is Roscommon Gaels in 3 weeks.

Our minor team of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels were defeated on Saturday last by Elphin. The minors play St Ciarans this Saturday in mulhern Park, Fuerty at 4pm.

Oscars big night of music and Dancing plus a monster auction including an Emerald Star Cruise, Mater hospital check up, Hotel and Restaurant vouchers, designer sunglasses and jewellery will be held in the Bush Hotel Carrick On Shannon on Friday March 4th starting at 8pm. Oscar, son of Brian Gibney and Denise McElhone is a five year old boy who has a rare and serious neurological condition and requiries full time care. All funds raised will contribute to carrying out adaptations to the family home. Tickets available in local shops and bars. Donations can be made on the night or to "Oscars Big Night" AIB Carrick On Shannon or Kiernans pharmacy.

Jenny Connellans team are on selling duty for the 50/50 draw and the draw takes place this Sunday night in the Silver Eel at 10pm.
