Kilmore GAA Club Notes 24th October 2016

Frank Dennehy

It was with great sadness on Sunday morning last that we learnt of the death of our club president Frank Dennehy. Frank was a great servant to the club and served as Club Secretary on 2 occasions and also served as club PRO for a number of years. On the pitch Frank was also a great servant leading the club to many great days including our 1983 County Senior Championship win. Frank will be sadly missed by everyone in Kilmore GAA. We extend our sympathy to his daughter Angela, sons Sean and Kevin and his extended family. A minute silence was observed before our Intermediate championship game on Sunday in honour of Frank.

Intermediate Championship

Saturday was a brilliant day as our King & Moffat sponsored team defeated Oran in the Intermediate Championship final after a replay and extra time. It was a true Kilmore battling performance and never say die attitude that got us across the line. On Sunday morning we then faced Monivea Abbey in the Connacht Quarter final in Tuam where we lost out by 10 points in the end. The club would like to thank most sincerely all our players for their commitment and dedication all year. Also thanks to the manager Stephen Coy and his backroom team of Padraig Doyle, Michael McGuire, Gerry Connellan, Meryvn Foley and Karol Foley.

Kilmore Does Strictly

Friday night and the Landmark hotel was the place to be for a night that will not be forgotten for a very long time as Kilmore Does Strictly took place. The night was a brilliant success and all our dancers were excellent on the night. The Club wish to thank all our 28 dancers who put in such a brillaint effort over the last 8 weeks and the club are very grateful for your support. We also wish to thank our teacher Colin Butler for his work and support. Thanks also to all our great sponsors who supported all our dancers with adverts and sponsorship. Finally thanks to the Committee for their work and thanks to all of you who supported all the events over the last 8 weeks and game so generously towards this fundraiser.

Last Man Standing

We have 6 people still standing in our competition.
