Joe Gilfillan
It was with great sadness at the end of June that we learned of the death of our club president and honorary member Joe Gilfillan. Joe was for many years a great driving force within our club and Joe served as Chairperson from 1984 to 1988 and also as treasurer from 1975 to 1984.  He was a great person to have involved in a club and his excellent advice was sought many times over the years and this was advice you could always rely on been the best advice you could get. Anything Joe done he done it well. He put massive effort into any Committee he was part of and really put his heart and soul into it. We were honoured as a club when just over 12 months ago in June 2019, Joe in his role as president of our club opened our new walkway at the pitch along with our 2 other presidents, Peter Joe & Teresa. Joe’s presence in our community will be sadly missed for many many years to come. May Joes gentle soul rest in peace. We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Mary Gilfillan, his sister Noreen and his extended family.  An excellent and well delivered graveside oration on behalf of the club was given by Tommie Kenoy on the day of Joe’s burial in Kilmore graveyard.
