KIlmore GAA Club Notes 2nd October 2011

Our Dunnes bar sponsored junior team were defeated on Sunday by St Michales by 4-8 to 0-6 in the northern semi final. Team was Ollie Bourke, Alan Glancy, Peter Glancy, Gerard Fitzmaurice, Danny Collins, Emmet Glancy, Donal Nevin, Mark McEvoy, Cathal Carney, Anthony Carroll, Jim Gilchriest, Jake Feeley, Darragh Feeley, Donal Carroll, Tony Moran, subs used Damien Carney, Ian Connellan & Peter Sheridan. The clubs thank the management team of Dermot Sheridan, Damien Carney and Gary Vesey for all their efforts during the year and we also thank the players and our sponsors Dunnes bar, Carrick On Shannon. Our Dunnes bar sponsored U-21 team begin their campaign on Saturday the 15th of October away to St Dominics. We will host Fulham GAA club on Saturday the 29th of October and play them in the Daly cup at Kilmore at 1.30pm. More details soon. Our U-14 girls put up an excellent fight on Saturday against St Brigids in the county final which ended in a draw. With a small bit of luck on their side the girls could have won the game on Saturday. Kilmore team was Aishling Earley, Fiona McGowan, Ashling Burke, Aoife Butler, Clodagh Boland, Sinead O Flynn, Shauna Burke, Siobhan Hook, Jessica Feeley, Lauren O Flynn, Olivia Connellan, Lauren Sharkey, Eleanor McWeeney, Subs Sarah O Beirne & Sarah Crowe. Our attention now turns to the replay which will be announced during the week. We will let everyone know on the text or via Please come out and support the girls the next day. Thanks to John Paul Murray of Acme blinds for his sponsorship of tops for the girls. This weekend sees the finale of our operation transformation. All participants will weigh in on Friday night at 7pm. Then on Saturday night a big BBQ will take place in Earleys Hillstreet starting at 9.30pm. On night the night we will have a marquee out the back with music and a BBQ been put on. Everyone in the parish is invited to come along on the night and celebrate the 10 week operation transformation. We will also announce all our winners on the night. Please sponsor any our our participants in anyway you can. The club wishes our neighbours Elphin the best of luck on Sunday in the county final. Thanks to FAS and Gary Vesey for preparing the pitch for the minor final on Sunday last. The club wishes Gerry Tiernan a speedy recovery from his injury which leaves him a major doubt for next years championship. The club congratulates Kathleen O Dowd and wishes her the best of luck on her retirement. A night at the Dogs will take place in Mullingar greyhound track on Saturday the 26th of November 2011, more details next week.The club extends its sympathy to Gavin & Helen Flood on the death of Helen's mother Theresa Farrelly from Dunleer in Co.
