Wither Away With The GAA

Our Wither Away is now up and running and great crowds have turned out at our Saturday morning meetings and our daily group exercises. Saturday morning Weigh-in and talk takes place at 10am followed by a lovely walk in the Forest Park. The Fitness programme will continue until the June Bank holiday weekend where we will be holding a celebration night with a difference with a BBQ, live music and much more. New members are welcome every Saturday and everyone in also welcome to join us on any of our walks.

Gaeltacht Scholarships
Secondary School students who are considering going to the Gaeltacht this summer could be lucky enough to get a grant towards the cost of the Gaeltacht. For more information check out our websitewww.kilmoregaa.ie

Golf Society

Kilmore GAA Golf Society latest outing took place on Saturday the 21st of March 2015 to Donegal Golf Club in Morvagh. the winner on the day was Des Caslin and in second place was Jimmy Connellan with Pat King finishing 3rd and Jamie Sharkey finished 4th. Liam Gillespie won the nearest the pin and Longest driver was won by Alan Ffrench. Next outing in on the 2nd of May and is in Esker Hills. Table Quiz
A fundraising Table Quiz for our Underage teams of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels will take place on this Thursday night getting underway at 9pm in Glancys Waterfront bar, Cortober. Adult and Underage teams are welcome. We would encourage all parents and players to please support this fundraiser for all our underage teams as this is the only fundraiser for the year for the combined teams. Great prizes on the night and a good night out guaranteed.
Club Draw
Our Annual Club Draw tickets are now on sale from our usual sellers. This year we have 3 draws, April, August and December with a first prize of €1,000 in each draw. We have loads of other brilliant prizes including weekend away in hotels and cash prizes. This year for €100 you will get 3 entries into each draw or 1 entry into each draw for €50. Our first draw will take place on Sunday night the 26th of April so if your not in you cant win.
Underage
Our minor team of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels were defeated on Sunday lasy by St Brigids on a score line of 3-3 to 1-8. Our U-14 team of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels lost to Western Gaels on Thursday last. Our U-14's are in action again this Thursday at 6.45pm in Kilmore when they take on St Ciarans. Our minors are also in action this Sunday at 11am when they travel to Knockcroghery to take on St Dominics.
Other News
Our Senior team are in O Gara Cup action this Easter Monday when we take on Oran at 2.30pm in Kilmore in the 2nd round as we bid to make it 2 wins in a row. We would ask for as many as possible to come out and support the team. Well done to John Donohoe who hit the winning goal as Roscommon minor team defeated Mayo last Tuesday in the Connacht minor league. Kilmore GAA wishes the Roscommon U-21 team the best of luck when they take on Galway this Saturday at 6pm in the Connacht final in Tuam.Our 50/50 draw took place on Sunday night last in the Kilmore Inn. Our jackpot was €475 and was won by Dermot McDermott, Dacklin. Thanks to Harry Reynolds and his team of sellers for their work and thanks to everyone who bought tickets. Gerry Tiernans team are on selling duty for the next draw. The club congratulates Gary Connellan and Sinead on the recent birth of their baby daughter Lauren. The club wishes Damien Tiernan a very happy 30th birthday. We wish all our members and supporters a very Happy Easter.
