Kilmore GAA Club Notes 7th November 2016

Junior Team

Our junior team put a very strong battle on Saturday to rescue a draw against Fuerty in the league semi final in Kilmore. We trailed by 6 points at one stage but fought back well and a great goal by Ray Caslin saved the day. We now face Fuerty in a replay.  Our U-20 team of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels will play Boyle in the championship second round on this Sunday at 12pm in Boyle. 


Minor 

Our U-12 team were defeated on Sunday last in the Beirne Shield final. Well done to all players for their efforts this year and on winning the spring league. Thanks to the management team of Ray McMahon and John Craughwell for their work with the team during the year. Our U-13 team of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels recorded their second win in the Feile competition by overcoming Oran. They now play Castlerea next Sunday in the semi final at 11.30am in Castlerea. Well done to Cian Ffrench who was a member of the Roscommon U-16 panel who won the Fr Manning Cup cup on Saturday last. 


Club Draw
Our 2nd draw of 2016 took place recently in Brackens. Our winners were as follows €1,000 Michael HP Connellan, €400 Chris Foley, €200 Seamus Shiel, Hotel Voucher Colm Garvey and €100 Brian Carroll. Our next and final draw will take place at Christmas.  

Other News
We had lots of birthdays recently in the club, Ben Donohue celebrated his 21st, Donal Carroll took another step towards the 50 mark and Junior Caslin danced into the late hours 2 weeks ago as he celebrated the big 60.  Our last man standing is down to 2 with Sean Glancy and Gerry Garvey battling it out for the big prize. Frank Denneheys months mind mass will take place on Sunday the 20th of November in Elphin church at 11.30am. The club congratulates our joint club captain Jack Sharkey & Yvonne Creighton who got engaged at the weekend, We wish them both the best of luck in the future.
