Senior Team
Our Murtaghs bar sponsored senior team had a good 3-15 to 1-9 win over St Aidans on Sunday last in the league in Kilmore. The 1st half was a tight affair with us just holding a 1 point lead at half time thanks to a Pat Caslin goal. In the 2nd half we pulled away with the help of another Pat Caslin goal and a goal from Cathal Carney. We have 1 game left in the league and that is away to Boyle on a date to be confirmed. Our next outing for our senior team is on Saturday the 9th of August in Boyle when we take on Castlerea in round 2 of the Senior Championship.
Our U-14 team of Kilmore/Shannon Gaels put up a mighty battle against St Dominics this week. Trailing by 9 points at half time, the lads never gave up and battled back in the second half to win by 5 points. Well done to all involved.
The annual Roscommon GAA race day takes place on Tuesday the 5th of August at Roscommon race course. Tickets this year cost €20 and the club need to sell our quota of 40 tickets. Included in the price of the ticket is admission, betting voucher, Finger Food, after race party in Carthys pub Roscommon and entry into a draw for many special prizes. If we have enough numbers we can look at the option of running a bus from the pitch to and from the races. For tickets contact Tommie Kenoy 087-9637068, Trevor Hunt 087-9652581. Gary Vesey 086-8986340 or any member of the executive.

An executive meeting of Kilmore GAA club will take place this Tuesday night the 29th of July at 9.30pm in the clubrooms. Plans for our annual Summer Camp are well underway and this year looks to be a brilliant camp. All children aged between 4 and 12 years of age are welcome to attend. To book your childs place contact Clare Caslin 087-9471081 before Wednesday the 6th of August as we need final numbers to confirm number of staff required. Places are limited so book early.  Our 50/50 draw is nearly ready to go and we hope to have it up and running by the end of August. The club extends its sympathy to Daniel & Martina Carroll on the recent death of Martina's father Gerry Finneran, Ballinagare. We wish John Gannon and the Roscommon minor team the best of luck this Saturday as they face Donegal in the All Ireland Quarter Finals at 3pm in Sligo.
