Challenge 24/32

Challenge 24/32 was an exciting challenge undertaken by 4 members of a GAA club in North Roscommon. The challenge was to drive through the 32 counties of Ireland in 24 hours. The venture began in Kilmore, Co Roscommon on Friday the 25th of October at 11pm and ended in Kilmore before 11pm on Saturday the 26th of October 2013. Over €7,000 was raised during the drive.
 

Fundraising Draw

We have now launched our fundraising draw for the Irish Cancer Society. Tickets will cost just €5 each or 3 for €10 or 20 for €50. We will have 32 hotel vouchers all sponsored by hotels all around the Country and hopefully have a hotel vouvher for each County.

Tickets will be on sale throughout the parish and any donations recieved on mycharity.ie will also be issued with draw tickets.

Meet the team of Challenge 24/32

Brian Carroll. Brian Carroll is the current chairman of Kilmore GAA club and is also Chairman of the Roscommon GAA Supporters club. Brian is currently a member of An Garda Siochana stationed in Granard in Co Longford. Brian has been involved for a number of years with his local club and is also a current member of the backroom team with Roscommon senior football team. Brian has said that many families and friends of his have been affected by Cancer and he felt it was an opportunity to give something back to charity by doing this challenge. Brian will be sponsored by Cllr Gerry Garvey.

Clare Caslin. Clare Caslin is the current assistant secretary of Kilmore GAA and is also the former secretary of the club. Clare is also secretary of the highly successful Elphin show. Clare is a national school teacher teaching at Annaduff school in Co Leitrim. Clare has said that she is delighted to be able to do this challenge to help out the Irish Cancer Society as she has witnessed the devastation that cancer can bring to a neighbourhood. Clare will be sponsored by Earlys hillstreet.

Gary Vesey. Gary Vesey is the current treasurer of Kilmore GAA club and has also been involved with coaching teams over the last few years in the club. Gary is a medical nurse working at Sligo General hospital. Gary has said he is delighted to do this challenge and raise funds so the Irish Cancer Society can help out the lives of so many people who have been affected by cancer. Gary will be sponsored by King & Moffat.

Trevor Hunt. Trevor Hunt is a member of the finance Committee of Kilmore GAA club and is an active member of all fundraising ventures taking place in the club over the past number of years. Trevor is also involved with foroige in the parish as well as the parish council. As a member of his own family is currently affected by the disease, Trevor is honoured to help the Irish Cancer Society in any way he can. Trevor will be sponsored by Brackens bar, Hillstreet.


The Challenge 24/32 team are currently in talks with a high profile car sales company who it is hoped will be the official sponsor of the car for the weekend. The Challenge 24/32 team are also in talks with
