Kilmore GAA Club was founded in 1886 and has been to the forefront in keeping Wexford GAA alive in the Southeast.

Kilmore played Junior hurling and football in the 1940’s and 50’s however it was when the Rackard League commenced in the 1950’s that the underage section took off winning seven out of the eight Rackard Leagues in both hurling and football. In the late 50’s Juvenile hurling and football championships were won. In 1957 the Club was successful in minor hurling while football titles were won in 1959,1960 and 1961. In the 1960’s a number of the club members played with our neighbours St. Annes, at senior level and secured a Senior Football title in 1968 and Senior hurling shield in 1967.  After a lean time, Kilmore got back to winning ways again in the 80’s and 90’s winning several Bord Na Nóg titles.

Our adult football team won the Junior football title in 2003 after a gap of over 40 years.  Our Junior B hurling team captured our clubs first ever adult hurling championship in 2014.

The club is located in the centre of the Parish adjacent to Kilmore Primary school.  The club currently has two full size pitches, one all weather complete with floodlights.  Following our redevelopment work our club rooms now consist of an indoor playing arena, an outdoor astro based training area, five dressing rooms, a gym, a meeting room, kitchen and referees’ room.  We have also developed a flood-lit asphalt walking track which is of huge importance and benefit to the community.

As we now look forward to the future, we hope to re-capture the spirit of those who had the vision in establishing our club, to encourage young people to play our games and develop themselves as players and as people.
